Dorcas Apoore
Dorcas is a Ghanaian social entrepreneur and the Founder & CEO of ASIGE, a globally recognised organisation empowering women and youth through sustainable skills development. She holds a Master’s in Africa and International Development from the University of Edinburgh, UK, where she served as the Scholars President for the MasterCard Foundation Scholars Program (2022/2023).
Dorcas has been recognised globally for her leadership and impact, including being selected as a World Bank S4YE Young Leader, a European Development Days (EDD) Young Leader, and the 2023 Northern Women Award winner. She has worked as a grant reviewer for the Pollination Project (USA) and actively contributes to discussions on job creation and the green economy.
Under her leadership, ASIGE has provided direct employment to 500+ women and youth in Ghana, trained 23,100+ individuals, and expanded into the UK to enhance global market reach. The organisation specialises in turning elephant grass into eco-friendly products, reducing plastic use, and producing sanitary pads for 8,000+ rural girls to keep them in school.
