In today’s digital economy, reliable connectivity and secure communications infrastructure are essential for businesses operating across international markets. For more than two decades, Borwood has helped organisations design and deploy the digital foundations that enable global collaboration, secure data exchange and seamless communication across continents.

Founded in the United Kingdom in 2003, Borwood was established to address a common frustration within the telecommunications industry – poor service delivery and fragmented advice when organisations attempted to deploy international connectivity solutions. The founding team brought together specialists across networking, infrastructure and communications to create a consultative technology partner capable of delivering reliable global solutions.

The approach quickly resonated with the market. Within its first year of operation Borwood achieved growth exceeding 200%, demonstrating strong demand for a more strategic and customer-focused approach to telecommunications infrastructure.

Building a Global Presence

Although Borwood launched in the UK, its vision was always global. The company began servicing customers in South Africa in 2004, and as demand increased, it became clear that a regional presence was required. In 2008 Borwood established and nationalised its South African operations, strengthening its ability to support organisations across the African continent.

Expansion continued with the opening of operations in Australia in 2012, followed by Mauritius in 2015 and Singapore in 2016. These strategic locations enabled Borwood to build a strong international footprint and support customers operating across Europe, Africa and Asia.

Today, Borwood delivers services across the key global regions of EMEA, Asia-Pacific and the United States, supporting multinational organisations with resilient and scalable communications infrastructure.

Intelligent Technology Solutions

Borwood’s approach is built around a simple philosophy: listen, think and deliver. By understanding the operational challenges of each organisation, Borwood designs technology solutions that align with both immediate business requirements and long-term strategic goals.

The company’s solutions portfolio focuses on four core technology pillars.

Networking

Borwood designs and delivers high-performance global connectivity solutions that enable organisations to securely connect offices, data centres and cloud environments across multiple regions. These services include Global Ethernet, MPLS IP-VPN services, Software Defined Networking (SDN), Private Circuit Networks and Dedicated Internet Access (DIA) – providing the reliability and performance required for modern enterprise operations.

Managed Services

Borwood provides a comprehensive range of managed services designed to simplify complex infrastructure environments. Through proactive monitoring, expert management and ongoing optimisation, these services ensure that business-critical networks and communications systems remain secure, reliable and fully operational.

Cloud

Borwood supports organisations in adopting flexible cloud infrastructure through solutions including hybrid, private and public cloud environments, along with services such as Business Continuity and Disaster Recovery planning and Unified Email Management (UEM). These solutions enable businesses to scale their operations while maintaining resilience and operational continuity.

Security

As cyber threats continue to evolve globally, Borwood delivers robust security solutions designed to protect networks, users and data. These services include Security Management as a Service (SMaaS), Secure Private Cloud, Integrated Endpoint Security and Unified Threat Management (UTM) – helping organisations maintain strong security postures across distributed digital environments.

Enabling International Collaboration

As trade relationships between Africa and global regions continue to grow, the ability to operate across borders with reliable digital infrastructure becomes increasingly important.

In 2024, the company further expanded its innovation strategy with the launch of Borwood Xtech, a specialised division focused on advanced technology solutions and the next phase of the company’s global growth.

By combining international expertise with a consultative approach to technology design, Borwood continues to support businesses as they navigate an increasingly connected global economy.

Borwood continues to help organisations connect people, platforms and markets across the world and by becoming an official member of Africa Scotland Business Network, Borwood aims to expand their international connections and engagements.
