Nick is a highly experienced Risk and Investigations Manager with over 30 years UK and international experience. Nick retired from UK law enforcement, having spent the last 5 years of his service as the UK National Crime Agency International Liaison Officer based in Africa, providing support to 15 countries across the Southern African region. Skilled, passionate and motivated in building capacity through leading organisational change, working with diverse customers and partners including Government Ministries, non-government organisations, law enforcement and the commercial sector. A proven track record in managing risk and delivering cost effective solutions through developing organisational resilience to counter serious and organised crime threats, including crisis management, strategic threat assessment, business continuity, crime prevention and managing the response to kidnap and extortion.

Nick has many years of experience as a Senior Investigating Officer and has extensive expertise in serious organised crime and covert operations. Nick served many years with the UK Anti-Kidnap and Extortion Unit, during which time he conferred expert strategic and operational support to UK and International law enforcement and private industry. He has deployed to many hostile environments and provided specialist operational support, training and guidance to kidnap and extortion incidents. He is the author of numerous strategic and tactical publications, including the United Nations Manual of Guidance on Kidnap and Extortion.

Nick remains a ‘Key Subject Matter Expert’ for the European Union and United Nations.

Nick was awarded the Order of the British Empire (OBE) in 2018.
